The CVT question, answered honestly

If you have researched used Nissans you have run into complaints about the continuously variable transmission, and they are not imaginary — earlier CVT generations had real durability issues. Two things are worth knowing. Nissan's later CVTs are substantially improved over the units that generated those complaints, and transmission condition is one of the specific things our 100-point inspection is looking for before a Nissan goes out front.

Beyond that, the Payless Certified Warranty covers the transmission, including internally lubricated parts, the torque converter, mounts and the housing when damaged by a covered failure.
